Forgive my absence, the long covid fatigue has been brutal. On a good day I can walk little Bean, on a bad day I can’t get out of bed. And there’s been very little writing. Sorry Nanowrimo! Maybe next year. (Though I have the idea for the next book ready to start writing once I’m functional!)
I honestly had the best Thanksgiving holiday. It was me and Bean. Eating all the food we liked and none of the stuff we didn’t. No one else bugging us except the wild animals outside. Maybe I’m becoming more feral?
In any case, I have some news! Read on!
Books!
First of all, KISMET is just $2.49 on Kindle until Dec. 3. If you haven’t yet read this one, it’s set in the wild world of white women wellness in Sedona. And our protagonist has to navigate being brown while not being murdered and while keeping the ravens on her good side. Spooky! Get it here!
More book news from me! On Dec. 10, 7pm EST, I’ll be joining the fabulous Ed Aymar for a virtual Noir at the Bar! It’s free, it’s virtual, you can just log on! And I’ll be reading from the new book, ALMOST SURELY DEAD. I’ll post more details (link etc) as we get closer!
Beauty!
Did I show restraint this year and not go wild at the sales? Hell no! So here’s what I bought and the sales I found to be the most interesting.
Dieux Skin
Y’all, I am obsessed with this brand. Every product I try from them is good. Instant Angel = insanely hydrating moisturizer. Deliverance = a delightful and soothing serum. Auracle= pretty great eye cream. I ordered the Air Angel to try out but I’ve heard good things. I’m one of those people who slathers moisturizer on—it’s the whole desert living thing. So I go through a big tube of Instant Angel every month. I’m not even sorry, I LOVE IT. (Sale is 20% off and they’re out of stock of Deliverance but you can sign up to be notified and get the discount when it’s available.) Dieuxskin.com
Lovely Skin
I wasn’t planning on buying anything else but I’m weak and need to feel joy while I’m stuck in bed. Lovely Skin is one of those sites that has Skinmedica and Skincueticals. So a sale there is always appreciated. I stocked up on the Skinmedica BHA/AHA face wash and the TNS moisturizer which is excellent for after peel care or a damaged barrier. I also scored an LED mask because my covid acne is still here. Always still here. Sigh. Their sale is 30-35% off so go forth! LovelySkin.com
Platinum Skin Care
So, this one is a little wild. But I prefer to do chemical peels at home. Full TCA peels. Mainly it’s that I live in a smaller town and I doubt anyone here knows how to work with melanated skin. If you’re looking for an at-home peel, I suggest Platinum. They have every kind of peel, every strength, and more importantly—a very robust how-to series of videos, a guide, and tips. It’s almost fool proof. If the idea scares you, I get it! But I’m still doing a peel later this week. So if my face is falling off at the Noir at the Bar, you’ll know why. 25% off at Platinumskincare.com
Bean!
And finally, little miss thing who is the source of all my joy and power in this world.
